SWP Media Internship

We are looking for a student with computer/web experience to help us with our e-commerce, content management, and digital distribution    platform. The perfect candidate would have familiarity with the following technologies:  C#, ASP.Net, DotNetNuke ( http://www.dotnetnuke.com/ ) Portal/Framework (Desirable), Webservices (WCF is a plus), XML, Silverlight. Experience with developing applications for the following mobile devices is also a big plus - Windows Phone 7 (C#, Silverlight), Android (Java, Android SDK), and iOS (iPhone) (Objective-C). Experience with SQL Server 2000/2005/2008 would also be great but not required.

Internship - Utah Geological Survey


The Utah Geological Survey (part of the Utah Department of Natural Resources) has an immediate opening for a computer science student to support database and web app development on several existing projects.  The student will work in a team of two other programmers in continuing development of a paleontological (fossil) locality database and web interface, a geologic hazards technical clearinghouse (database and web interface that supports collection of technical information after a major geologic event, such as an earthquake), our groundwater data portal (database and web interface of monitoring well data), and imagery data (database, and web/windows interface to manage our aerial imagery collection). 
 
The ideal candidate will have experience with PHP, mySQL, MS SQL Server 2008, C#, Java, Apache, and Adobe Flash in Windows Server and Linux environments.  We anticipate some interfacing with ESRI's SDE and ArcServer applications as well (web mapping).  The position is available for 20 hours per week until April, and then 40 hours per week to July, with the potential to extend with available funding.  The position pays an hourly rate of $14.03.   Interested candidates should send a resume to stevebowman@utah.gov in MS Word for PDF formats by December 11th.

Programming Intern opportunity - Avalanche Software

 Avalanche Software (a video game development studio for Disney located in downtown SLC, UT). We are looking for two programming interns to work 25-29 hours a week (paid) for 3-12 months (depending on performance and department need). One intern will be doing network programming (network replication of a visual scripting language) and the other will be working on game stability and automated testing (identifying common build failures).
