UGS Internship


Information on the internship:
This position will support geologic-related database and web application development on several existing and new projects.  The student will work in a team with another computer science student in continuing development of a geologic sample and information database and web interface, paleontological (fossil) locality database and web interface, a geologic hazards emergency response technical clearinghouse (database and web interface that supports collection of scientific information after a major geologic event, such as an earthquake or landslide), our groundwater data portal (database and web interface containing monitoring well data), and imagery data (database and web/windows interfaces to manage our aerial imagery collection).   Some additional customization of our GeoData Archive System (https://geodata.geology.utah.gov) may also be performed.  PHP/CodeIgniter, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server 2008, C#, Java, Apache, and Adobe Flash experience in Windows Server and Linux environments is necessary.
