Description: | Our Web and Database Developer will work out of our Park City, Utah office which is nestled at the bottom of Park City Mountain Resort's Silver Star ski lift. Additionally, we allow employees to bring their dogs to work and provide staff an option to ride our free UTA commuter van for those commuting from SLC! When it comes to hiring, we value highly driven, creative, and collaborative staff! This position may expect to work with new technologies in a friendly, casual environment for a stable company. Our Web and Database Developer is responsible for codifying business processes and requirements into functional, high quality, database driven, web based applications. Considerations: This position may be required to work extended hours and weekends as needed leading up to and during the annual Film Festival. Additionally, this position may be required to stay in Park City, UT for the Film Festival. |
Duties: | APPLICATION DEVELOPMENT • Lead the process of gathering data for assigned enhancements and bug fixes for existing applications. Prioritize and manage the implementation of enhancements accordingly. • Design, develop, test, implement and document scalable web applications. Monitor access and error logs for anomalies. • Serve as primary contact for assigned web based programming projects. Effectively communicate status updates with stakeholders. • Provide expert information on browser compatibility issues, user interface requirements, and programming best practices and standards. DATABASE AND OTHER DUTIES • Manage the administration of Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP, including the creation of tables in MySQL and other RDBM systems as needed. • Assist Database Analyst with FileMaker development including layouts, workflows, scripting etc. Create tables in MySQL and other RDBM systems as designated. Other duties as assigned. |
Qualifications: | Employee has legal authorization to work in the United States. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Information Systems or other technical field required. • Minimum of 4 years of experience developing database driven web applications required. • Minimum 4 years experience administering Apache and MySQL on Linux operating systems required. • Experience with Java, Ruby, Perl, MS SQL Server 2005, mobile platform development and CRM APIs such as Salesforce.com or SugarCRM preferred. • Experience with version control systems, especially Git. Preferred. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES • Expertise with PHP 5 and PHP MVC frameworks required. • Experience working with CodeIgniter preferred. • Strong object-oriented development skills required. • Strong HTML and CSS skills required. • Working knowledge of SQL for both data definition (DDL) and data manipulation (DML) and SQL based relational databases, especially MySQL required. • Working knowledge of data warehouse design and ETL processes preferred. • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written communications required. • Able to begin work or undertake projects on own initiative, without needing to be told or encouraged to do so required. • Demonstrated experience with providing superior customer service required.
