RemedyEHR: Technical Analyst Part-time/Internship/Co-op 

We are: The leading provider of Electronic Health Records to the Bariatirc (treatment of the morbidly obese) surgeons and physicians.

Role description: 

1. Participation in all phases of software development (Requirements gathering, design, coding and testing) for enhancement of RemedyEHR's web application.
2. Frequent interaction with users of RemedyEHR's Bariatric physician suite to resolve technical issues.
3. Close interaction with developer, account manager, helpdesk support specialist in resolving critical client issues.
4. We are a small team and there is great potential for growth in this role: begin with resolving basic issues, and with active participation and over time, take a bigger role as a technical engineer / manager. 
5. The person in this role must be a quick learner, must be willing to take the initiative on tasks, and be available for work 20-30 hours a week.
The part-time position offers flexible hours and pays $16 to $20per hour depending on experience.

Education/Experience:

1. Working towards a BS in Computer Science, Information systems or equivalent. Must be in school.
2. Internship or equivalent experience in a corporate environment and in a technical role is welcome.


Required skills:

1. Software development: Expert knowledge is welcome, but not needed. Basic knowledge of the following technologies is a must:

PHP, JavaScript, Oracle PL/SQL

2. Knowledge of how web applications work and how forms interact with databases is a must.

3. Basic understanding of computer networks: VPNs, SFTPs, and other network related stuff.

Programmer needed

Professor Tim Garrett in the Department of Atmospheric Sciences is seeking a programmer to facilitate WASHARX, an NSF funded project to study aggregation and riming of snowflakes at Alta Ski Area.

What is needed is rapid on-the-fly image processing and web posting of snowflake images as they are photographed in free fall. Image processing scripts have already been developed
using the Matlab Image Processing Toolbox that perform automated rejection of out-of-focus
images, for example. What is needed is scripts in some C variant to speed-up analysis,
make it more portable, and post the images to an internet browser. The code can be
developed from scratch or adapted from the matlab code.

In addition to having the necessary programming skills, a qualified applicant should have
basic downhill skiing skills and equipment necessary to reach the site within the Alta Ski
Area bounds. Day passes will be provided where necessary.

The pay rate is negotiable, but will be in the vicinity of $10 per hour.

3D reconstruction collaboration

Elphel Research Lab is building the complete sphere panorama cameras and calibration machines that will allow us to do 3D reconstruction of captured panoramas. Web programmer needed

I’m the co-founder of Find A Place, LLC based out of Idaho and I currently am a student at the U. Find A Place is a real estate “.com” company that is still in development. We are in need of a student or two that is willing to help us launch the site. We need someone who has basic flash skills, advanced skills would be great, they need to know how to connect to a database server (MySQL or XML) with flash (action script) or someone who could learn how. We also need someone who is handy with Ajax or Mootools or anything to the liking. On top of that, JavaScript, any graphics design and HTML is a must. We could also use a second individual who knows how to make phone apps, if someone knows how to make an app talk to a MySQL server than they would be great. 

I have done web development as a contractor in the past and I would love to show someone the ropes of the business side of web development. Help design, develop and implement software to enhance U/U Atmospheric
Science's  publicly available web-based products
(http://mesowest.utah.edu) that are used extensively for many
applications, including protection of life and property. You will help
to interface applications with open source SQL databases and integrate
disparate systems into cohesive products. Responsibilities are to help
develop, manage, and design web-based software and databases for
internal and external customers using research-driven products. You
will assist with development of data standards and protocols for a
national level data expansion project designed to augment existing
federal agency programs. You should be comfortable working in a
congenial research environment alongside other research employees.
Candidates must be self-driven and accountable under minimal
supervision to reach project goals with guidance.


Qualifications, Skills, and Preferences

No one is expected to have all of the following, but the it does
provide an indication of the breadth of skills that are applicable.

Qualifications:
B.S. degree in computer science, atmospheric or related sciences, or
physics or mathematics. Experience in software development, with
knowledge of database integration, or academic research experience in
meteorology and computer science. Certificates of completion of other
technical programs a plus. Or equivalent education and technical
experience.

Skills:
Experience developing web application in PERL, HTML (XHTML/HTML5),
CSS, Javascript, and common Map APIs

Internship: Machine Learning/Artificial Intelligence Application Intern

This project is to explore artificial intelligence techniques to improve and automate problem management analysis to aid the problem specialists get to the root cause or problems faster. We have over a million incidents in our environments and a manual analysis of these incidents is close to impossible. Using AI we expect to understand the “clusters” and the “possible causations” from a data centric perspective and enable the problem management process to be successful.
 
The project involves the following tasks:
 
  1. Working with stakeholders to identify the correct data set from various data sources.
  2. Pull the data from these sources and perform necessary manipulation to prepare the data set for machine learning analysis.
  3. Work with subject matter experts to build data models for specific problems identified in the proof of concept.
  4. Build/Recommend GUI for displaying results from the machine learning analysis.
  5. Present results to stakeholders in a timely manner and constantly work with them for feedback and improvements.
  6. Build solutions that are reusable and re-implementable – the proof of concept will eventually be an IT wide application for data analysis.
  7. Potentially publish or present results in industry/research conferences.

Mozenda Needs Web Developer

Mozenda is a tech startup based in Orem. We're revolutionizing the way people gather and analyze information from the web, and we're looking for great people to join our small, hardcore team of focused engineers. We're profitable and debt free with money in the bank to fund new projects, and we're growing fast.

You will work with a small team of developers and a web designer to build a new web-based product using existing Mozenda technologies as a starting point. You will also work directly with the Mozenda's chief architect. Since we will be building a new product, you will have the opportunity to choose how you contribute and to influence what we build. We want you to own your projects and feel passionate about them.

We use Javascript and jQuery to build our web applications. The web applications communicate with our back-end services using AJAX/JSON. Our back-end services are written in C#/.NET and run on Windows servers. We use Microsoft SQL Server for our database, memcached for caching, and our servers use PGM to communicate with each other over our network. We do other things too, such as REST API's, Windows applications using .NET Windows Forms, and even a bit of C++ and COM here and there.
