This job is designed to provide students with unpaid professional experience to further their education and training and is academically oriented for the student’s benefit. To qualify students must be enrolled in an accredited school program related to the type of work they are expected to perform. Positions are voluntary and will terminate upon completion of the internship period. Incumbents may deal with confidential information, which is expected to be maintained as confidential and shared only on a need-to-know basis with city employees and elsewhere when authorized by the intern’s City supervisor.
The focus of this internship is to write one or two mobile applications for citizens or employees of Salt Lake City. This posting is for two non-paid intern positions to write mobile applications. The ideal candidates will have training and some experience in writing mobile applications for smart phones, tablet devices, and/or other mobile endpoint devices, and is currently enrolled in the computer science field at the University. Experience with Microsoft ASP.Net MVC4, HTML5, and J-Query Mobile is advantageous. The hours can be worked around school schedules.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
· Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university, though summer internships may not require concurrent enrollment if student is in good standing with the educational institution.
· Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
· Must have good organizational and analytical skills.
· Must have good computer skills.
