Software Quality Assurance (SQA)




Responsibilities:

- Performs functional, application, and performance tests.
- Executes automated testing procedures and programs.
- Design and implement testing processes and Software Quality Assurance (SQA) methodologies necessary to deliver scalable, maintainable, and defect-free system(s) in an on-time and cost effective manner.
- Serve as QA interface with software developers and end-users.
- Reports significant defects and tracks all defects and project issues.
- Analyzes test results from a technical standpoint and the ability to isolate defects prior to escalating to the development team for resolution.
- Track test coverage and other metrics.
- Contribute to the continuous advancement of current QA processes and maintain repeatable processes.
- Work closely with the development team to develop automated and manual testing strategies.
- May plan and direct the testing performed by others involved in the qualification of products and applications.

Job Requirements

The ideal candidate will have the following:

- 2+ years experience in Software Development with a focus in Software Quality Assurance (SQA) or Software Testing.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, problem solving, interpersonal, and time management skills.
- Adaptable and flexible to the work environment, handling multiple tasks concurrently
- Experience with QA and manual testing techniques and processes, including black box/white box, bug reporting and tracking, test case writing, and test execution.
- Experience mentoring and guiding less experienced testersUnderstanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), specifically the Agile Methodology (Scrum, XP, Lean, Kanban, etc.)
- Familiarity with Web 2.0 technologies (Javascript, SOA, AJAX, CSS, SOAP, HTML).
- Experience with Software Test Automation, including API or Web Services testing (Selenium, Watir, JMeter, REST, SOAPUI, XMLRPC,etc.)
- Experience testing web-based, enterprise applications.
- Experience using source code repositories (Git, Subversion, TFS, etc.) Mac or Linux Desktop environments a plus, but not required.
- Some experience with coding and scripting (Java, Python, C#, etc.) in a testing role
