Working for Student Media as a web
designer will afford you many opportunities to build your skill set and
abilities with a variety of websites - from designing custom websites for
clients to managing internal websites, you will be challenged to exercise your
best design and programming skills.
This position is a part-time, student
position. The position will manage websites for Student Media, design and
employ websites for clients, and assist in the management of VPS where websites
reside. Schedule is flexible. Workspace is provided although expectations will
be for qualified individual to work as necessary to provide support.
Qualified applicants will be able to
demonstrate via online portfolio ability to design and build websites,
including the ability to manage complex, database driven sites. Must
demonstrate working knowledge of HTML, CSS, Java, PHP, MySQL, Apache. Skills in
other programming languages plus, but not necessary. Must be able to work
within (or learn) a Linux Debian environment. Objective-C experience, Android
programming or other mobile language programming a plus.
