Senior Developer (Ruby on Rails)



Change Anything is a web and mobile platform that helps people make significant
personal lifestyle changes. We are launching a new product, Coach Alba, which is an
automated text messaging-based personal assistant that helps people overcome the
difficult moments that derail their good intentions to change.
We’re looking for an exceptional and motivator senior developer to help us build our
product line.

What you’ll be doing:
Design, implement, and test new features and maintain existing components
using Ruby on Rails framework
Work with other developers to troubleshoot, re-factor and assist one another
Checkout, rebase and merge git repository branches
Assist in production configuration, deployment, monitoring and troubleshoot

Applicants should have:
Strong knowledge and professional development experience with Ruby on Rails
Professional experience with OO design and programming
Experience with Test Unit framework such as RSpec
Familiar with HTML5, CSS, JavaScript and jQuery
Understanding of web service technologies such as HTTP and REST
Familiar with version control systems such as SubVersion or Git
Experience with Agile development techniques
Thorough understanding of the software development lifecycle
Superb analytical skills, self directed, excellent communication skills
BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent

Job DescriptionAvalanche Studios is a Disney Interactive Development Studio based in Salt Lake City, UT. We are focused on the creation of video games based on Disney intellectual properties as well as the creation of new properties. We are looking for a programming intern to help with subtitle implementation!
Responsibilities• Write code to support in-game subtitles during voice-over moments
• Work closely with our user interface team to enhance our localization tool set
• Reliably create high quality and performance-sensitive C++ code
• Other duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications• Proficient with C++ with at least 1 year of experience
• Experience with Flash and ActionScript a plus
• Experience with scripting language such as Lua, Python, or Perl a plus

Ruby on Rails Engineer
