U of U Software Development Center Internships

Dear Prospective Intern,

The University of Utah's Software Development Center (SDC) is looking for the best and brightest juniors and seniors from the University of Utah's School of Computing (and related departments) to participate in our internship program. Each semester a rigorous selection process is used to choose talented, motivated, and hard working students. Students should have approximately a 3.5 or better GPA, some experience developing software outside of class projects, and be self motivated.

Student participants work in focused groups on one or two semester long projects that aim to improve marketability of select software applications. Students gain business experience in creating a commercially ready product and are exposed to leaders in the industry from such local firms as Avalanche studios and NVidia. In addition to the experience and exposure, interns are financially compensated for their efforts. Interns are asked to work approximately 15 hours a week during the semester.

The SDC was created jointly between the U's Scientific Computing and Imaging (SCI) Institute and the Technology Commercialization Office (TCO).  Interested applicants should send their resume (and questions, if any) to J. Davison de St. Germain (dav@sci.utah.edu).  We will be accepting applications for the next two weeks, or until all positions have been filled.  The internship will start as soon as the student is available.

Sincerely,
Davison de St. Germain
