StorageCraft cares about PEOPLE! StorageCraft is looking for top performing Software Quality Engineers (QA)-to test and improve our Windows based products. We desire to promote or hire an outstanding engineer, who knows how to debug software and find solutions to help our customers better manage their back-up and restore storage solutions. We need someone that knows all Operating Systems and can make solid product improvement recommendations.

Duties:
This Quality Software QA Engineer will focus on debugging and testing software products to ensure quality of product.

Tester will also:
• Work as an integral part of the engineering software QA team to debug, design and develop great products.
• Manage performance test Windows and Web applications, Linux is a plus!
• Security test all Windows and web applications
• Generate automated functional and load test scripts
• Manage the generation of manual test scripts and plans
• Conduct Quality Assurance (QA) analysis and calibrations, assist marketing in writing knowledge based white papers for web based support.
Qualifications: 
·         Two or more years of QA testing experience preferred and/or two years of computing-related work experience.
·         Ideal candidates will have programming and/or scripting experience. They will work within a team to create an automated test system and need to feel comfortable writing code and scripts in multiple languages, such as C++/C#/Java, Python, VBScript and bash. Knowledge of cross-platform technology such as Qt and Mono is an advantage.
·         Candidate needs to have a good understanding of troubleshooting operating systems such as Windows, Linux and/or OS X. You need to understand system items such as underlying disk structure (MBR/GPT), registry, boot mechanism, file system (e.g. NTFS, EXT2/3/4) and know how use a range of diagnostic utilities to identify problems. A good understanding of the Windows and Linux command line options is also preferred.
·         Ideal candidates will have experience with various virtualization technology including VM Ware, Microsoft™ Hyper-V and Oracle™ VirtualBox, together with experience of leveraging these to improve testing.
·         Knowledge of common diagnostic and troubleshooting tools for Windows and Linux, including some of the tools from Sysinternals.
·         Good candidates will have a good working knowledge of computer hardware, RAID, NAS devices (including those with Linux/SAMBA), peripherals and networking.
·         Experience of some common test-automation tools and frameworks is an advantage. These might include Selenium, HP™ QTP Borland™ SilkTest and FrogLogic™ Squish. Ideally this experience will focus on automated, script-based testing rather than simple play and record.
·         Ideal candidate will have experience with recovery environments including WinPE and Linux boot disks.
·         Knowledge of backup technology, including block-level backups and the VSS framework, is a bonus.
·         Knowledge of networks (DHCP, DNS, firewalls) is an advantage
·         Knowledge of enterprise applications such as Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory, SQL Server and Oracle is an advantage
·         Knowledge of remote desktop management software such as VNC, Remote Desktop, SSH and LogMeIn is a bonus.
·         Able to be work in a team-based environment, self-motivated and excellent follow-through

Education:
B.S. Degree: Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience preferred and/or Associate degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or related field, or equivalent experience preferred
Success Metrics:
·         Successful implementation of automated test system
·         Successful mentoring of other QA engineers
·         Successful implementation of completion of test cases and Implementation Debug software and quality testing milestones on time and with very few errors.

Physical Requirements:
·         Dexterity and ability to sit for long periods of time
