Program: Discover Leadership Program
Track: Business Technology Internship Program (BTIP)
Position: Intern
Location: West Valley City, UT (Lake Park Office)

Program Overview:
The Discover Leadership Program (DLP) is a dynamic training program that provides participants with:
• Challenging project assignments that support Discover’s strategic priorities and objectives
• A dedicated Program Manager to provide leadership continuity, ongoing performance feedback and coaching on career direction
• Hand-selected Internship Managers identified for their business acumen and effectiveness in managing and developing people
• Cross-functional knowledge, experience and contacts
• Ongoing developmental training
• An experienced and committed mentor
• Access and exposure to our senior leadership team

This program is recognized as a major corporate asset and receives direct support of Discover executives.

Business Technology Internship Program Track:
The Business Technology Internship Program is a 10 -16 week paid summer internship at our West Valley City, UT (Lake Park Center) office that provides participants the opportunity to use both their technical and business knowledge in working on initiatives aligned with Company priorities.  Interns are assigned to a team to solve a business problem, applying their classroom knowledge and background in programming and/or systems analysis to help identify and implement business solutions.

Our internship program is focused on developing participants to help them achieve their career goals.  We provide exposure to both the technical and business sides of our team and offer many opportunities through class offerings, cross-functional project work and presentations to senior management, to allow participants to hone their skills and increase their knowledge and confidence.

Required Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS
• Individuals enrolled in an accredited Bachelor’s Program who will have completed their Junior year (by June 2012) in Computer Science or a related discipline
o Sophomores may be considered if they have work-related experience and their current field of study is Computer Science or a related discipline
• Minimum of a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 grade point average scale
• While we’re looking for all types of technical and business-analyst roles, we offer positions utilizing the following:
o Platforms: Windows XP, Unix, Linux, MVS/ESA, Cisco, and more
o Databases: Oracle, DB2, Teradata
o Programming languages/application software: C/C++, Java, Java Beans, JSP, JCL, Cobol, SQL, HTML, Websphere, and more

• Ability to translate ideas into clear priorities
