Web Programmer


Job Summary
Designs, develops, and updates web-based applications. Responsible for website maintenance department wide. Provides technology support by troubleshooting and correcting problems with web-based applications, audio visual hardware or software applications.

Qualifications
Associate’s degree and 1 year experience in computer related field, 3 years experience in computer related field, or equivalency is strongly recommended. Demonstrated computer skills, human relations and effective communication skills are required. Knowledge of PHP, CSS, MySQL, and JQuery are required. Knowledge of servers and databases recommended. Knowledge of Adobe CS suite recommended.
Knowledge of the following required: HTML, Javascript, CSS, PHP, MySQL, Photoshop, PC/Windows OS.
Knowledge of the following desired: HTML5, CSS3, XLM, AJAX, Java, MAC OS.
This position is not responsible for providing patient care.

Essential Functions
1.       Designs and develops websites and other web-based applications.
2.       Provides technology support by troubleshooting and correcting problems with web-based applications as well as audio visual hardware and software applications.
3.       Creates and maintains websites for specific all department needs.
4.       Creates and maintains databases and programs for specific department needs.
5.       Edits and creates audio/visual and image files for department-wide use (website, research, logos, display monitors, course lecture audio and video).
6.       Maintains inventory of hardware.
7.       May serve as a help desk resource for assigned areas.
8.       Runs departmental web reports and unique programs.
9.       Develops web-based research projects and data collection systems.
10.   May supervise, train and assign work to other staff members in web-based or other software and hardware related tasks.

Problem Solving
This position resolves computer-related problems including hardware, software, websites, databases, system failures or resolving unique customer requests. The incumbent may need to create and maintain new computer programs specific to the department needs.
The incumbent must be able to prioritize requests and be able to handle concerns of impatient or dissatisfied customers.
Incumbent must understand license restrictions and confidentiality guidelines in reference to applications and information stored within the network. Incumbent must keep updated with the new computer technology and understand how these relate to ongoing problems.
