Job description:
The Radar Exploitation & Electromagnetic Modeling Directorate within the Advanced Sensors Exploitation Division develops leading edge technologies and products in the areas of sensor signal processing and exploitation, object recognition, and electromagnetic/acoustic modeling. We are seeking an individual holding a MS degree in computer science, engineering, physics, or mathematics with 3+ years of professional experience, preferably in the Defense Industry.
Candidate will support projects dealing with radar signal processing, assisted target recognition, SAR/EO/IR image processing and electromagnetic modeling research development efforts.
The Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for successful design, development, and implementation of software and hardware solutions to meet our challenging programs across varied sensors, platforms, and our customer’s development and deployment environments.
Candidate must have engineering research and software development experience geared towards real-world applications. The Senior Software Engineer will be a team member on various programs being managed by the Section Leads and Program Managers in the Directorate and will prepare documentation for system designs and architectures in accordance with established systems development processes and procedures.
The position requires past experience in working with small teams of software engineers developing advanced solutions to challenging problems. The candidate must be familiar with and have experience in implementing the requirements of an engineering process (e.g., CMMI).
An active DoD security clearance, and previous experience in the defense industry are definite pluses.
Skills: GNU/Linux, C++, Standard Template Library, Scripting Language such as MATLAB or Python, Signal Processing API such as VSIPL or FFTW, statistical analysis, GPGPU.
