Software Engineering Intern

Scope


The primary responsibility of software engineering interns is to provide support to the software engineering team to develop and enhance the ClientTrack suite of tools and solutions.  Software engineering interns will be experts on the use of the ClientTrack designer tools and platform that are utilized to provide unique and scalable solutions. 

Roles & Responsibilities


  • Utilizes the ClientTrack configuration toolset to implement and document fully scalable features and functionality in solution offerings
·        Designs, modifies, creates, and documents standard reports by utilizing MS Reporting Services Report Builder and SQL queries and stored procedures
·        Performs quality assurance user testing and bug submission on features and functionality designed by other team members, specifically functionality and interfaces developed for mobile browsers
·        Designs, modifies, writes and implements database queries, stored procedures, functions, and other database objects
  • Works in collaboration with Service Delivery on assigned configuration work required to satisfy contracts
·        Works with internal and external stakeholders to propose technical solutions to platform or solution problems
·        Assists in resolving application solution defects

Metrics & Accountability


·        Software engineering interns will be measured on their ability to achieve success in:
o     On-time delivery of assigned tasks, with high quality
o     Documentation of design considerations, constraints, and implemented approaches
o     Collaboration with the software engineering team and service delivery solutions team
o     Their ability to continue to expand their skill sets and knowledge base
·        Software engineering interns are accountable for:
o     Managing their schedules to meet commitments provided to internal and external customers
o     The overall quality of their projects
·        Software engineering interns must be able to demonstrate proficiency with the ClientTrack configuration and reporting tools.

Education, Work Experience and Skills


Education and Work Experience
  • In progress of obtaining a bachelor's or associate’s degree in software engineering, computer science, or business information systems.

Specialized Knowledge and Skills
  • Understanding of relational data models and data analysis
  • General understanding of development process, including requirement specification, documentation and quality assurance.
  • Should have proficient communication (written and oral) skills and interpersonal skills.
Equipment and Applications
  • Working knowledge of the Windows operating system required. 
  • Basic experience with SQL or similar database languages
Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • General office environment 
  • Moderate levels of stress may occur at times
  • Will be required to meet development deadlines
Suggested Special Skills
  • Experience with Health, Human and Social Services organizations a plus
  • Experience using MS Reports Suite, Crystal Reports or Active Reports a plus
