Software Quality Assurance Engineer

Fulltime

The Software Quality Assurance Engineer reports to the Quality Assurance Manager and is responsible for assuring the delivery of defect-free software products and services that are compliant with technical specifications and business requirements.

Primary Responsibilities

§  Develop rigorous testing requirements

§  Develop, document and execute detailed test plans meeting established deadlines

§  Identify defects within ContentWatch software products and services

§  Generate detailed bug reports in the bug tracking system, including detailed steps to reproduce

§  Track previously entered defects and validate resolved defects

§  Conduct performance and scalability tests as required

§  Provide escalation support to Customer Service Representatives as required, escalating to

§  Development Engineering if necessary

§  Responsible for quality risk analysis

§  Deliver work estimates related to testing, quality assurance and deployment activities

§  Communicate testing activities and status to stakeholders in oral and written format

§  Track and report quality assurance metrics and test coverage

§  Review release notes documentation before it is sent to customers

§  Demonstrate working software as required

§  Verify correct software deployment to every supported environment  

Skills & Experience

§  Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or equivalent work experience

§  Demonstrated proficiency with modern software quality methodologies

§  4+ years experience in software quality assurance

§  Working knowledge of SQL and web-based programming languages

§  Experience writing test plans, test requirements and test cases

§  Experience with bug tracking software, such as Bugzilla

§  Experience using Testlink is preferred

§  Knowledge of automated testing methods

§  Experience with Selenium is preferred

§  Solid expertise in internet protocols with a complete, hands-on understanding of Internet technologies and tools (TCPView, ProcMon, Charles Proxy, etc)

§  Effective oral and written communication

§  Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills
