MotoSAT Computer Software Engineers Needed

POSITION SUMMARY Develop, create, and modify embedded systems application software. Analyze user needs and develop software solutions. Design software or customize software for client use.

Essential Functions Statement(s)
 Develop and direct software system testing and validation procedures, programming, and documentation.
 Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.
 Design, develop and modify software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design.
 Consult with customers about software system design and maintenance.
 Coordinate software system installation and monitor equipment functioning to ensure specifications are met.
 Obtain and evaluate information on factors such as reporting formats required, costs, and security needs to determine hardware configuration.
 Determine system performance standards.
 Train users to use new or modified equipment.
 Give input to embedded hardware designs.
 Ability to read and understand electrical schematics.
 Recommend purchase of equipment to control dust, temperature, and humidity in area of system installation.

SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education : Bachelor's Degree (four year college or university)


Experience : Four to ten years related experience Computer Skills Proficiency in Assembly, C, and HTML languages. Additional languages of C# and PHP beneficial. Qualified applicant must also have the ability to work with a variety of microcontrollers, compilers, and IDEs. Familiar with schematic capture and PCB layout applications. Working knowledge of typical office applications.
Certificates & Licenses BS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.
Other Requirements Experience in embedded systems programming using embedded Linux, MQX or similar RTOSs. Experience in interfacing any or all of the following peripherals a plus: USB Host, graphical displays, realtime motor control, satellite communications, and internet communications. May be called upon to provide additional hardware design and PCB Layout.
